FAQ
General questions
Do you help homes and businesses?
Yes. We support residential customers, single-person offices, small businesses and growing organizations, from computer and printer issues to networks, Microsoft 365 and security.
Should I request on-site or remote support?
Remote help suits many software, email and configuration issues if the computer starts and connects to the internet. Hardware, cabling and physical installation often need a visit. Describe the symptoms so we can discuss the appropriate method.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Greater Houston, including Katy, Sugar Land, Cypress, Richmond, The Woodlands, Spring, Tomball, Conroe, Rosenberg, Jersey Village and Magnolia. Confirm your exact address and any location-specific charges before booking.
How does the arrival window work?
On-site appointments use a two-hour arrival window. Confirm the agreed window when scheduling rather than assuming an exact arrival time.
How do I get a technician ETA?
Call or text (713) 849-2953 to ask about your appointment and arrival estimate. Confirm how arrival updates will be communicated when booking; an exact-minute ETA is not guaranteed.
How do I request service?
Call or text (713) 849-2953, email Info@HoustonTechGuys.com, or use the Contact page. Include the issue, device or system, location and preferred timing. A request is not itself a confirmed appointment.
When is my appointment confirmed?
Confirm the date, arrival window, service method and charges with us before making arrangements. Do not assume an email or online request has reserved an appointment until we have agreed the details.
What is standard on-site pricing?
On-site service is $150 for the first hour, then $37.50 per additional 15 minutes. Any location-specific charges must be confirmed before booking. Parts and software costs should be discussed separately.
What is standard remote pricing?
Remote support is $100 per hour, with a one-hour minimum prepaid. Confirm that the issue is suitable for remote assistance and discuss approval of any additional time before booking.
Are there location-specific travel charges?
Any location-specific charges must be confirmed before booking. Give your exact service address when requesting an on-site appointment; do not assume a charge or exemption based only on the city name.
How is remote-session privacy handled?
You approve the connection and can end it at any time. Close private documents and unrelated applications, and enter passwords yourself where practical. Ask the technician to explain the access and disconnect controls before starting.
What should I prepare before service?
Save your work and back up important files where safe. Have error messages, device models, power adapters and account-owner approval available. If a drive is clicking or failing, stop using it rather than attempting a new backup blindly.
Are parts and software licenses included?
Parts, replacement equipment and software subscriptions are separate from labor unless explicitly included in an agreed quote. Ask about any one-time and recurring charges before authorizing purchases or installation.
Can I get same-day or after-hours help?
Ask about availability when you contact us; neither same-day nor after-hours service is guaranteed. Standard hours are Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM and Saturday 9 AM–3 PM; Sunday is closed.
Do you offer ongoing managed IT?
Yes. Businesses can discuss ongoing monitoring, maintenance, help desk, Microsoft 365 administration and security support. Systems covered, licenses, response expectations and costs are agreed in the plan rather than assumed from one-time rates.
