FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What should I do immediately after losing files?
Stop saving new data to the affected device and avoid installing recovery tools on it. New writes can overwrite recoverable information. Note what happened, which files matter and whether any backup exists, then contact us.
Should I stop using a clicking or damaged drive?
Yes. Shut it down and do not repeatedly restart, open or freeze the drive. Physical damage may require specialist equipment. Continued use can make recovery more difficult, so discuss next steps before experimenting.
Can recovery be guaranteed?
No. Success depends on the cause, physical condition, overwriting and encryption. We explain what assessment can establish and what remains uncertain. A recovery attempt is not a promise that every file can be restored.
What happens if the drive is physically damaged?
Physical damage needs assessment before ordinary software recovery. Some cases require a specialist recovery laboratory. Ask about the recommended next step and any additional costs before approving work; do not open the drive yourself.
Can you restore files from an existing backup?
Yes, if the backup is readable and contains the needed files. Keep the backup device or account access available, and tell us the approximate date of the loss. Restoration should be checked before the original data is replaced.
How can I prevent future data loss?
Use automatic backups with independent copies and periodically test restoration. Synchronization alone is not a complete backup strategy. We help select local and cloud backup options appropriate to your files and recovery needs.
