FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where should a business security review start?

Start with important accounts, administrator access, devices, network settings and backups. We identify practical priorities and discuss the scope before making changes. A review is not a certification or a guarantee of compliance.

Can you remove former employees’ access?

We can help review and remove authorized account, device and application access. The business should specify which data and mail must be retained and approve changes. Shared credentials may need replacing as part of offboarding.

How can we reduce shared administrator accounts?

Use individually assigned access with the minimum permissions needed, and keep administrative tasks separate from everyday use where possible. We review the current arrangement and plan changes to avoid disrupting necessary work.

Can device encryption and screen locks help?

Yes. These controls can reduce exposure when a device is lost or left unattended. Encryption recovery keys must be stored safely. We check compatibility and ownership before enabling controls.

Can you verify that backups restore?

We can help plan restoration checks for agreed systems and files. A successful backup status alone does not prove recovery will work. Confirm the test scope and avoid replacing live data without an approved plan.

Does a security review certify regulatory compliance?

No. IT security work does not automatically constitute a formal audit, legal assessment or compliance certification. If your organization has specific requirements, identify them and involve the appropriate specialist.
